Five-Year-Old Boy Sexually Abused by Classmates, New York City Injury Lawyer Reports

The mother of a 5-year-old Queens boy has made a shocking claim. According to her, her son was ambushed and sexually assaulted by four classmates, all of the in kindergarten.

“I’m very sad and disappointed,” the mother told a New York Injury Lawyerr. “You never expect this to happen to your child, especially in school. You expect them to go to school and come back safe.” The Astoria resident filed a notice of claim on August 27, 2010. The mother states her boy went into the bathroom when the attack occurred. Four boys, all of them 6 or 7 years old, held him down, removed his pants, and inserted at least one finger into his anus, according to the filing. The victim wears ankle braces due to balance issues and is said to have suffered physical injuries and posttraumatic stress disorder.

“He’s already started with a psychologist,” said the mother’s attorney to a New York Injury Lawyer. “He’s having nightmares, gender identification issues.” The city’s Education Department has yet to finish its investigation and no action has been taken against the four alleged attackers.
