A New York Car Accident Attroney reports, Steven Badke, 18, of Smithtown crashed his automobile and faced charges. Allegedly, at nearly ten a.m. that day, Badke was driving along Jericho Turnpike when his car swerved across the road east of Old Willets Path. His vehicle crashed into a 2004 Honda Odyssey. The Honda was driven by Juno Aruanno, 48, also from Smithtown. Aruanno’s son, John, 13, was also present in the car at the time of the accident. A car accident occurred earlier in the year of 2008. The accident took place in Riverhead, New York.
Steven Badke’s car killed three people. John Aruanno died after injuries from the traumatic crash. Both Daniel DiStefano, 17, of Smithtown, and Michael Western, 17, of Smithtown died after the crash as well. They were flung from the Honda Civic. A close relative of Western considered that Badke murdered her son. The relative would like Badke to remember that moment forever and to be very unfortunate.
Badke was sentenced to 30-days in jail in Riverhead. He pleaded before to being guilty for careless driving. He originally was accused of three counts of criminally negligent homicide. Fortunately, C. Randal Hinrichs, Suffolk County Court Judge, disregarded those criminal charges in September. Hinrichs announced that even though Badke was assumed to be speeding, his acts did not add up to criminal negligence. He also said that in order for a person to be guilty of criminally negligible homicide, a person ought to generate hazards.
