Texting while driving can be even more dangerous than driving while under the influence, a New York Injury Lawyer reports. Yet the laws still do not reflect that.

The last words of a Malibu plastic surgeon, famed for his work on TV stars, were “Border collie jill surveying the view from atop the sand dune”. He texted these words just before driving his car off a cliff. Jill survived the accident.

Another accident in 2007 killed a texter and four other members of a New York high school cheerleading squad. The message, whatever it was, resulted in the car slamming head-on into a truck, killing all five teenagers. The Chatsworth train collision in 2008, in which 25 people died and more than 100 were injured was another horrible accident where texting was involved – the engineer of the Metrolink commuter train was distracted by text messaging.

The U.S. Department of Education and the Hawaii public school system have come to an agreement regarding a complaint about bullying lodged by the parents of a high school student, sources tell a New York Injury Lawyer.

The parents of the teen girl were not sure why their daughter would never want to go to school. When she did go, she was always late to class, according to calls from the office. The parents said their daughter was harassed for some time until she broke down and finally told them just what had happened to her.

“She started to wake up crying in the middle of the night and then she confided they were threatening her. They said watch your back,” the mother told a New York Injury Lawyer. “They were saying things like ‘haole cockroaches can’t use these stairs.’ They were physically threatening her, taunting her about her appearance,” said the father to a New York Injury Lawyer.

A U.S. District Court judge is using his farm expertise to help him in the courtroom, according to a New York Injury Lawyer. The judge, based out of Little Rock, Arkansas, is currently making his way through some of the 8,000 lawsuits worth millions of dollars in damages regarding menopause drugs made by Pfizer.

Mules are well-known for being stubborn, of course, but they also have a strong “sense of self preservation,” the judge told a New York Injury Lawyer. ” They are like lawyers in that regard.”

The judge will not consolidate all his cases into a class action lawsuit and will preside over a stand-alone trial for damages allegedly caused by the drug in question. He is also prone to avoid settling a case. He gives both his lawyers and his mules the chance to take things in their own directions. The 70-year-old judge is known for using humor in the court and in his rulings, sources told a New York Injury Lawyer.

A family in British Colombia, Canada sued the Canadian Standards Association and a helmet manufacturer, after their young son sustained a severe injury, sources tell a New York Injury Lawyer. They have recently lost their suit.

Their son was 17 in 2004 and playing AAA hockey when he fell into the boards during a game in Esquimalt, B.C. Soon after that, began vomiting and his condition quickly deteriorated. He had suffered a subdural hematoma, which led to brain damage.

His parents sued the helmet maker, claiming they made a helmet that was not adequately safe. They also sued the Canadian Standards Association for not either not having standards strong enough or not warning those who wore their helmets of the associated risks.

The Pace University football star who was slain by cops outside a Westchester bar may have only been trying to move his car, a family friend told a New York Injury Lawyer. The father of a passenger in that car said the driver thought an officer only knocked on his window to get him to move out of the fire lane.

The passenger’s father told a New York Injury Lawyer “an officer jumped out from between cars and started firing, and then the next thing [the young men] knew, [one cop] was on the hood.” The student “yelled several times as they were pulling him out of the vehicle, screaming, “They shot me! They shot me! They shot me!” the passenger’s father told a New York Injury Lawyer.

“After he’s been shot, and to lay him on the ground, face down, bleeding, handcuffed and to be left there like some wild wounded animal on the side of the road shouldn’t happen.” The passenger himself had also been shot in the arm. He told a New York Injury Lawyer, “In my heart, what went on that night… it didn’t need to come that.

All he wanted to do was work. Born with a pretty face and not much else, he knew his ticket to success in life was the potentially glamorous, and also potentially dangerous, world of male modeling, said a New York Injury Lawyer. And so he went to New York to make it big. Like so many others, maybe he was a bit naive, maybe a bit too trusting, but he was earned in his ambition. He needed to work, he needed the money to survive and the fame to thrive, and so he began talking to a famed high profile individual within the industry, noted a New York Injury Lawyer. He trusted the man, putting his career in his hands, willing to do what was required of him. That is, until he learned that what was required was the definition of sleazy.

One night, the male model was invited to the older gentleman’s home, with a promise of talking things over and furthering the male model’s career, reports a New York Injury Lawyer. There, things took a nasty turn for the worse as the older man grabbed the male model’s crotch and demanded sexual favors in exchange for career help. The model refused, ran away, bolting towards the door, ashamed and disgusted that a man he’d trusted had violated him as such, noted a New York Injury Lawyer. The model avoided the man for years until he was again promised a photo shoot. The model arrived at the house, found no one, and then found the older man’s hands in his underwear with the second promise of fame and fortune in exchange for sex.

Now, the model has filed a sexual harassment suit against the man, hoping to bring a little justice to a world in apparent need of it.

You spend your entire life saving for that one magical trip. You and your wife or husband make the arrangements, pay thousands upon thousands of dollars in costs, and book that cruise ship vacation get away, says a New York Injury Lawyer. And then the unthinkable happens: it turns into a disaster. Now, this time it wasn’t a Titanic level disaster, thankfully, but for the 4000+ people on board the cruise ship it was a scary time, noted a New York Injury Lawyer. What happened, you ask? Their ship stopped. It ran out of power and was stuck off the coast of Mexico. No power, no way to move, just a giant floating rock in the middle of the ocean.

It started in the engine room. The engine room, the heart of the boat, the place that makes it all possible. And it caught on fire, reports a New York Injury Lawyer. Bursting into flames, the boat’s power source was crippled and broken. It was destroyed. And then the backup power generators didn’t start up. And for hours on end no one knew what would happen next. There was no energy and even the toilets stopped working, says a New York Injury Lawyer. Four thousand people stuck on a boat with no clue of how to get off.

Thankfully, the backup power finally started and the passengers were able to make it to safety, noted a New York Injury Lawyer. The cruise ship owning company has given everyone free cruises in the future and apologized for the event.

Braintree is a tiny town in the middle of nowhere that many haven’t heard of, but it has been active lately.

A ninety four year old woman died there, the victim of an unfortunate accident. She was driving her car and though the story normally ends with the elder driving being responsible this time that is not the case, says a New York Injury Lawyer. A misguided and unthinking woman in the other improperly controlled her car, veering into the older woman’s lane and causing the old woman’s car to flip. Yes, she was ninety four but that is no excuse for her life being cut short, notes a New York Car Accident Lawyer. Every minute we have is precious and no one has the right to take one second from us, even if we’re already old.

In an unrelated story, a man has been charged with drunk driving, reports a New York Injury Lawyer. A stupid, selfish, oaf of a man thought he was better than everyone else who obeys the drinking and driving laws. He thought he could do what we can’t and now he’s in jail because of it, says a New York Injury Lawyer. It is a wonder he didn’t hurt anybody with his unthinking and arrogant actions. His crazed behavior saw him blow through two red lights and finally slam his car into a curb, hard enough that the car was damaged and people called the cops, notes a New York Car Accident Lawyer. He has been placed in jail for his stupidity.

More than three thousand human beings, three thousand sons and daughters and mothers and fathers and friends and relatives, were trapped at sea as their supposedly luxury cruise ship broke down, says a New York Injury Lawyer The ship is a giant of a boat, measuring almost one thousand feet long. And it broke down nearly two hundred and fifty miles off the coast of San Diego, California when a massive fire broke out in the ship’s engine room, notes a New York Injury Lawyer. The crew worked fast and hard and one hopes smartly to put out the fire but it was too little too late as the ship was ground to a halt.

The United States of America and the government of Mexico have worked together to bring food to the starving passengers, reports a New York Injury Lawyer. The Coast Guard is going to be air lifting in more than seventy thousand pounds of food immediately in an effort to give those on board some relief from the dire circumstances that they find themselves in. Honey moons have been ruined, vacations destroyed, memories forever tainted, all because of this disaster on the high seas, says a New York Injury Lawyer. Instead of seeing dolphins swim, passengers are watching helicopters from the USS Ronald Reagan drop food to them.

Air conditioning was destroyed, hot water gone, telephone services gone, and even the toilets were shut down. It was and is a floating mess. Full refunds will be offered but how can one begin to pay for the horror of being trapped at sea?

An Ohio couple has brought a lawsuit against St. Mary’s Medical Center and Scott Orthopedic Center, claiming these facilities were negligent in their care and treatment, a New York Injury Lawyer reports.

Others were named in the suit as well, including another medical center and a doctor, as defendants, sources told a New York Injury Lawyer. The plaintiff was a patient of the defendants, beginning in February 2009. The complaint was filed in Cabell Circuit Court on September 22.

The plaintiff, along with his wife, claim the defendants gave him the wrong antibiotic, then prescribed too much of it. They also say his blood levels were not monitored properly, they did not record and report the blood test results accurately, and then kept him on antibiotics after the blood tests began to show evidence of kidney damage.
